1. Accepting and participating
Sponsors accept these Program Terms by checking the box at checkout. Applicants accept them when submitting a Pass the Pen application. You must have an Authorlytics account and meet the eligibility rules in the Unified Terms. Participation does not guarantee approval, a sponsored seat, or a particular wait time.
2. Sponsorship purchases
A sponsorship is a one-time purchase of seat-month credit. It is not a subscription and does not renew. Pre-launch sponsors receive a Founding Sponsor badge in their account. Each seat-month provides one person with one month of sponsored access to S.A.M. Future suite items may include BookEnd, Editionary, and RoyalTree. Pricing will increase based on the cost of the Authorlytics suite upon launch of each product. Current purchase options for S.A.M are:

Sponsorship credit goes into a shared pool. You cannot choose or contact the person who receives a seat. Credit has no cash value, cannot be transferred, and cannot be used for your own account. It does not expire while the program operates. If you delete your account, the sponsorship remains in the pool. Payments are processed by Stripe, and sales tax is added where required.
Authorlytics LLC is a for-profit company, not a charity. Sponsorships are purchases, not charitable contributions, and are not tax-deductible. We do not identify sponsors to recipients or recipients to sponsors. Sponsors receive only general program updates, such as the number of writers supported. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle purchase and account information.
Refunds and payment reversals
You may request a refund within 14 days after purchase only if none of the seat-month credit associated with that purchase has been used. After credit has been used, the purchase is nonrefundable except where required by law. If you sponsor before public launch and S.A.M has not launched by March 1, 2027 you may request a full refund. If Authorlytics cancels the public launch, we will automatically refund pre-launch sponsorships. A chargeback or reversed payment removes the corresponding credit from the pool, but will not end a recipient’s seat in the middle of a seat-month.
3. Applying for a sponsored seat
To apply, you must have a verified email address and at least five days of real use on S.A.M’s free tier or an Authorlytics app trial. Each person may hold one seat. The application asks for a short description of what you are working on; we do not require proof of income. A person reviews each application, and approval is not guaranteed. When the pool is empty, approved applicants wait in order of approval.
When applicable, an approved seat provides one month of access to S.A.M at no cost. It renews automatically each month without a new application if you use the Services on at least three days during the month and pool credit is available. We may email an inactivity warning around day 21. If you have fewer than three active days in a month, the seat ends and may be offered to the next writer. You may reapply without penalty.
When other approved applicants are waiting, you may receive a seat for up to three consecutive months before returning to the waitlist. If no one is waiting, there is no consecutive-month limit. Seats are for your personal use only and may not be sold, shared, or moved to another account.
When a seat ends, your work remains yours. S.A.M returns to its free tier, and the other Services become read-only unless you purchase a plan or receive another sponsored seat. The “Download All My Data” feature remains available. We may end a seat for false information, multiple accounts, or other program misuse, with notice by email where practical.
4. Pool funding, changes, and ending the program
Authorlytics will fund at least ten seat-months per month beginning at public launch and will add ten monthly company-funded seat-months for each additional 100 customers beyond the first 100. Sponsorship credit and company-funded seats may be used to provide seats from the same pool.
We may change program rules. We will email sponsors at least 30 days before a material change. If the program ends while the Services continue to operate, remaining pool credit will continue to fund seats until used. If Authorlytics winds down, we will refund each sponsor a pro rata share of unused pool credit, subject to applicable law. Any chargeback, refund, or unused-credit handling is subject to nonwaivable legal rights.
5. Other terms
The Unified Terms of Service continue to govern your account and use of the Services, including privacy, acceptable use, intellectual property, suspension, disclaimers, limits of liability, disputes, and governing law. These Program Terms apply in addition to the Unified Terms for Pass the Pen. If you do not agree to these Program Terms, do not sponsor, apply for, or use a Pass the Pen seat.
